This was probably the quarter where I had the most fun. We specialized in Adobe Illustrator during it, and I enjoy the program because it has smooth graphics as well as easy to use tool options. We learned many important things, like how use shape builder to create an organic shape, or just use pen tool as a faster way. I learned to make gradients and use the mesh tool to create a sense of shadow, and I learned to used different fonts to design different pieces of artwork. I also worked a little in UVW unwrapping, something I might want to get better at if I ever want to make a videogame. The artworks shown on the showcase page are representations on how I've really grown into Adobe Illustrator. I think the learning of the software has helped me in my digital art journey by giving my helpful tips on how I might want to navigate digital art in the future. For example, If I ever get the urge just to create something, I would most likley use Illustrator. Im not planning to make digital art into the main career in my life, more like a hobby than anything, but if worse comes to worse, I always have this to fall back on. I might even specialize in this art form after I retire from my original career. I have progressed a lot, like the fact that I now know how to better clean up my canvas and not just leave everything as indivdual pieces. I heard that the next quarter is going to be focusing on video, so im pretty excited for that.

Since my last quarter reflection, I have aquired new skills in not just computer art, but also how to manage schoolwork. I can now work decently in photoshop using a variety of tools I was taught, and I have a bigger understanding of the elements of art. Additionally, I have realized that I need to let go of procrastination and actually do my assingments when I need to, because the second quarter wasnt excactly what I wouldve liked. I have defintely grown in a lot of fields, especially the organization of my art. This class made me realize that organization of elements is very important in an artwork. What I enjoyed in this class are the drawing related projects such as the rough character sketch and the storyboard, where I needed to draw on paper before uploading my sketch onto photoshop. For things I did not particularily enjoy, I would say the worksheets are probably the hardest for me. Ive always been pretty bad at readings with questions at the end, so its no surprise these are my least favorite activities, beside the fact that they are really boring. However, I understand how these worksheets help us get an introduction on the topic beforehand. For next quarter, I think I will refrain from getting injured and completley overturning my entire grade book, and focus more on ways I can spend more time on classwork and less time on my devices. Hopefully, if I do this, next quarter will not be such a hassle. I really enjoyed the quarter (Except for the concussion and the stress) and hope for the following quarter to be even better.
As I write this, it marks one more week until the quarter ends. I truly have enjoyed this topic and this class, and hope to do more similar things in the future. Something I learned is that learning to use resources and not going crazy with the amount of primitives you make can really freshen up your model. Modifiers are really useful, especially if you want to make your model look more complex, and surface modeling can help lessen the amount of pieces that make up a model. The artworks I have chosen may have not been the greatest thing the world has ever seen, but I am really proud of them, since I have never worked with a modeling software before. I came to a realization that my art does not have to be amazing, but it has to be amazing for me. They also showed how comfortable I started getting with the whole modeling process, my models becoming more and more complex as time went on. While I dont think I will have a professinal career in modeling, taking it up as a hobby has always been an option for me. With my mindset now of one of clever thinking and simpifying things, I can work better in other softwares and work with other digital media, such as photoshop. This can lead to my improvment in this art genre and perhaps creating something that will inspire the generation underneath me. That is one of my goals, to create something worth remembering. I think that I will work hard towards it by thinking, planning, and creating whatever it is that comes to mind. My modeling will then get better and maybe I can go with impressing more than just myself. I still have a lot of work to do, but what is life without work. Awfully dull is you ask me. Eventually, I think, my work will something I and the world will both enjoy.
