Elevator Pitch The basis of this short trailer is going to be a man trying to escape his house, but unfortunatley getting killed by an unknown monster. His daughter, who was playing outside, will enter the house and find her fathers dead body, before succumbing to a simmilar fate. The attack scenes will obviously be off camera and nothing will be gory except for maybe some ketchup. Script: There is no dialogue, so there will just be a description of events: Opening shot is of a door leading outside. Suddenly, a man slams into it, desperately trying to open the door, as if he is escaping from something. A noise sparks the man to look behind him, scanning the living room for any threats, eventually turning back. Unfortunately, he did not look good enough, for when he turns his back, the monster runs up to him and murders him despite the man's screams. Later, we get shown the house from outside, switching to a clip of a young girl running up the porch stairs, volleyball in hand. She enters the silent house, noticing something peculiar on the floor. It is a bell ball, and as she examines it curiously, another noise sounds in the living room and a shadow flits by the camera. The girl, afraid, begins to make her way to the end of the hall, towards the room on the left, but when she opens the door, she is met with nothing. She hears another noise behind her in the room on the right, so she quickly goes in and finds herself in the bedroom's bathroom. As she opens the shower curtains, she finds her father dead in the bathtub. Horrified, she turns around to leave, but is met with the sight of a cat. The cat then kills her. Storyboard:

In this activity, I learned to create captions, speed up or slow down clips, change the volume of sounds, and create animated text. These are effects that are a little more complicated than ones you find on the effects tab. One thing I found hard at the end of the video was controlling the decibel volume. Sometimes, it would shoot up into the red and I would have to lower the volume of some of my clips. Something I found easy, now that I have had more practice with it, is lining up the beat of the music with the video. I tried in this assingment to really grasp that, since in some of my other videos I kind of ignored that One thing I liked was learning to animate text and creating still images from an original clip.
For this assingment, we had to pay attention to the 180 rule, which is basically a rule in filmaking that can help keep the viewer engaged during a conversation between characters. The shots of the characters are alternted between 180 views of each other, since the actors are talking face to face. In this video, I edited a knock-knock joke from clips by Matthijs Clasener. Something I found hard was finding different cuts to put in my video, and even now I dont think I added enough but I dont really know where to add any. Something I found easy, however, was finding the clips I liked in the videos provided. Although this was harder and I kinda gave up halfway, I still enjoyed editing the video.
This assingment I struggled with more since I was given certain clips instead of finsing my own. However, on the second day of working on it, I got the hang of it. I realized I was overanalyzing things when it came to overlay. Something I found easy, though, was getting into the flow and finding excactly what clips I wanted. Video clips are definetley harder to edit than pictures, but they also give you more fluidity and options. I made this video kind of like a PSA you would find on TV or as a youtube ad. Video editing is a lot funner than I thought it would be, and the partnership between music and clips really creates a satisfying end result.
This assingment was a little different from the first Premiere Pro assingment, in that we used video clips instead of still images. We still used the same websites to find our clips and sounds, but once it was in Premiere it wasnt as easy as the images. We were taught several important things like placing an Inpoint and Outpoint on a media clip to section off a piece of it we would like to use. Once in the sequence, I fiddled around with a music track I downloaded from a royalty free website and cut my clips to make it twenty seconds long. For some of the clips I used the original sound and for others I did not due to it complicating my sequence. Something I found difficult was matching up the clips to the music, and something I found easy was finding what I wanted in the clips and the order I wanted them to be organized. I liked working with video clips more than with photos because it was less dull than just a series of images. For this project, I went for any eerie feel, using images of the forest for a base.
For my first assingment in Premiere Pro, I was to put together a sequence of images based of a color of my choosing. I wanted a melancholy kind of feel fading into uneasiness, so I chose the color gray and downloaded royalty free pictures that slowly turned uncomfortable. I was working along a tutorial that showed me how to make a new project, create a sequence, organize and overlap my photos, and export my finished product. Something that was difficult for me was probably setting up the software so it would be compatible with my images, as well as controlling my curiousity. There was one time when I completley deleted my progress, but thankfully I was quickly able to regain it. Something I found easy was finding the order in which to put the images, as well as using the different tracks and the Text option. Although it was a simple project, I think video editing might be something I will enjoy, and maybe even take up as a hobby.
This was probably the quarter where I had the most fun. We specialized in Adobe Illustrator during it, and I enjoy the program because it has smooth graphics as well as easy to use tool options. We learned many important things, like how use shape builder to create an organic shape, or just use pen tool as a faster way. I learned to make gradients and use the mesh tool to create a sense of shadow, and I learned to used different fonts to design different pieces of artwork. I also worked a little in UVW unwrapping, something I might want to get better at if I ever want to make a videogame. The artworks shown on the showcase page are representations on how I've really grown into Adobe Illustrator. I think the learning of the software has helped me in my digital art journey by giving my helpful tips on how I might want to navigate digital art in the future. For example, If I ever get the urge just to create something, I would most likley use Illustrator. Im not planning to make digital art into the main career in my life, more like a hobby than anything, but if worse comes to worse, I always have this to fall back on. I might even specialize in this art form after I retire from my original career. I have progressed a lot, like the fact that I now know how to better clean up my canvas and not just leave everything as indivdual pieces. I heard that the next quarter is going to be focusing on video, so im pretty excited for that.
